Barriers to Effective Communication

Have you ever struggled to communicate your message clearly and effectively?
Did your message get mixed up by the delivery, or by the packaging?

This clip from the 1990's TV comedy series "Fraser" hilariously illustrates how preconceived opinions and negative emotions can create barriers to effective communication.

Perhaps you have been the sender or the recipient of a miscommunicated or misunderstood message.

Maybe you were a 3rd party who observed the misunderstanding in progress, and sought to help while trying your best not to "take sides."

We spend so much of our existence communicating or trying to communicate, to understand and be understood.

If there is one message that you want to perfectly convey to the one that matters most, what would you say, and how?

Is there one message that you wish you had understood perfectly when you loved one was trying to share? What prevented you from being able to hear and receive that message?

Do you struggle to communicate effectively? You are not alone.
